Afrofuturism

Client: Woodrow Winchester III

I was approached by Woodrow Winchester III during the spring of 2018, Professor Winchester is interested in the place of Afro-Futurism in design thinking. You can learn more about his theories here, after meeting with him we began working on this series of diagrams that are being used to enhance presentations and papers he is writing on the subject. This project was a great experience because I had to think about how someone coming in with no knowledge of Afro-Futurism could understand its place in design thinking.

Bass for Brains

Client: Hedonism Bots

A project I worked on for the Hedonism Bots, a local band. They requested artwork done for their new album Bass for Brains. The album cover features the band as computer headed robots. The interior illustrations were an homage to Martin Handford, the creator of the book series Where's Waldo. The bands decison to make this type of scene is what really interested me in the project, and they gave me a number of details that they were interested in seeing within the crowd. It was a lot of fun seeing this project evolve from meeting to meeting with the Hedonism Bots and come to a final design that they were excited to put out.

Sole Sanctuary

Client: Sandy Santuchi

Sole Sanctuary Massage was looking to update their public image through a redesign or their logo, and a full style guide from which to create new signage and materials in the future. The primary feeling that the client wanted in the designs was of movement. I incorporated varying stroke widths to give the feeling of a flow of pressure. This project’s main difficulty was the large amount of information that needed to be included, I had to pay attention to the hierarchy of the information and design the brochure.
